MONTALE PARIS OUD TOBACCO EDP 100ml

Montale Paris Oud Tobacco is a fascinating, high-impact fragrance to explore. It is not your typical dry or ashy tobacco scent; instead, it leans heavily into the "hypnotic" and sweet side of the spectrum, blending spices with a creamy, almost edible warmth.

This is an Amber Woody fragrance released in 2020. It is known for being dense, rich, and slightly polarising due to its unique opening.

The Opening (The "Sumac" Kick)

Unlike many ouds that start heavy, this opens with a sharp, tart, and spicy blast. The key player here is Sumac—a spice often used in Middle Eastern cuisine that has a sour, lemony flavor. Combined with Cumin and Citrus, it creates a zesty, red-spice opening that is very distinctive.  

The Heart

As the tartness settles, the Incense and Oud come forward. The oud here is not "barnyard" or animalic; it is smooth and resinous, acting as a backbone rather than the main star. Orange Blossom adds a subtle floral lift that prevents the scent from becoming too dark.  

The Dry Down (The Sweet Spot)

This is where the magic happens. The base is a rich blend of Tobacco and Tonka Bean. The tobacco note is not smoke or ash; think of moist, sweet pipe tobacco or unburnt hookah tobacco. The Tonka adds a creamy, vanilla-like sweetness that rounds everything off into a warm, luxurious bubble.

Performance (The "Montale DNA")

If you are familiar with Montale, you know they don't do "subtle."

Longevity: It is often described as "nuclear." It easily lasts 10–12+ hours on skin and can stay on clothes for days.

Projection: It has a massive scent bubble (sillage). You do not need to overspray this; 2–3 sprays are usually enough to fill a room.
